This collection of 4 individual lessons focusing on intellectual skills development helps students to think about and identify problems within their community, discuss the impact of these problems, and express their emotions and reactions to these issues in a respectful, inclusive group conversation. Lesson 1 asks students to consider what their response to a problem would be. Lesson 2 asks the class to pick a specific issue their community faces and discuss it. Lessons 3 and 4 empower the students to express their thoughts, ideas, and emotions through a visual element, such as drawing or creating something from modeling clay. Each of the four lessons includes: a lesson plan, a list of necessary materials, time requirements, and a conversation and question guide. This curriculum is intended for ages 12-14.
