This collection of five individual lessons builds on the skills acquired during Year 1 on this topic, helping students to increase their critical thinking skills. Lesson 1 teaches students how to explain their decision-making process and consider all options and factors when solving a problem . Lesson 2 asks them to identify specific problems and their impact utilizing the question, “What if?” Lessons 3 teaches students to use a thinking map to identify problems and describe the factors that contribute to the problem. Lesson 4 builds on this by guiding the students in deeper conversation, and Lesson 5 encourages students to explore possible solutions, ideas, and thoughts about problems in writing. Scripture is used throughout to guide the conversation and increase the students’ awareness. Each of the five lessons includes a lesson plan, a list of necessary materials, time requirements, and a conversation and question guide. This curriculum is intended for ages 12-14.
