The lesson “Being a Good Citizen” teaches children further about personal responsibility and moral obligations as citizens and community members developing a Godly character. The children will verbalize at least three characteristics of a good citizen, explaining the importance of being a good citizen. They will brainstorm together and determine several things each can do to help his or her own community. The children will also practice praying for national and community leaders. The lesson includes guided instructions for the teacher, including preparation, a script, and suggested activities to facilitate further learning in a fun and interactive manner. This lesson is designed for children between 9-11 years, and is the 29th lesson in the 2nd year Core Curriculum Set and part of the “Community Awareness” unit.
