The lesson “Developing Healthy Self-Esteem” teaches children about the importance recognizing God-given strengths and talents in self and in others. Children learn that God developed each of them specially and for a purpose, making them very important in the world, and very loved by God Himself. Through the lesson, each child will be able to verbalize reasons why he or she is special and loved, no matter whether he or she is behaving or misbehaving. The lesson includes guided instructions for the teacher, including preparation, a script, and suggested activities to facilitate further learning in a fun and interactive manner. This lesson is designed for children between 3-5 years, and is the 39th lesson in the 1st Year Core Curriculum Set and part of the “Emotional Development” unit.
