A Call to Love

Partnership should lead to mutual edification, believing in each other as Christ washed the church to make her radiant (Ep 5: verses 25-27).
We need to be careful not to be judgmental as we engage as partners in the ministry. Mutual accountability and submission is key. It’s such an honor to serve with the church and we need to be careful and thankful to God for every milestone achieved.

The principle of mutual submission is of paramount importance for Christians to follow, My responsibility is a responsibility to love the Church. I should be like Christ, to take the initiative but not to be domineering, to give myself for the church to support her sacrificially, speaking reassuring words, encouraging the church, rather than being possessive (suppressing the Church by prescribing things for them), but rather encourage the church to grow using their available gifts or resources.

I recognize that the Church is superior to Compassion - it is the bride of Christ; Compassion is not. Compassion is part of, and contributes to the larger mission of the Church of Christ. This understanding should guide my interaction with our church partners. I serve the Church as I serve with Compassion.
