The lesson “Using Reflection to Enhance Reading Comprehension” teaches children to reflect on the material they are reading in order to enhance and improve reading comprehension and to better their study skills. Each child will analyze a newspaper article using critical thinking and reflection while reading to answer questions following the exercise. The lesson includes guided instructions for the teacher, including preparation, a script, and suggested activities to facilitate further learning in a fun and interactive manner. This lesson is designed for children between 9-11 years, and is the 21st lesson in the 1st Year “Critical Response to New Information” unit.
