Building on the lessons on this same topic in Year 1, these two lessons empower students to identify their strengths and weaknesses in studying, and to develop life-long learning skills. Lesson 1 helps students recognize their academic strengths and weaknesses and create a schedule of all of their commitments. They will also be able to identify and create a learning environment that best suits their needs. Lesson 2 gives students positive test-taking skills, and aids them in recognizing and using strategies for successful testing. This curriculum reinforces their ideas of self-discipline and the importance of school. The lessons are 45 minutes long and uses small groups. Each of the two lessons includes a detailed lesson plan, lists of materials needed, and questions to help guide a constructive conversation.
